The 8th meeting on Recent Developments in the Study of Radiation Effects in Matter will be held in Kerteminde, Denmark
between 20th and 23rd of September 2015. The series of REM conferences has a tradition of 8 years, starting in 2006.
The first successful meeting was held at Playa del Carmen, Mexico in December 2006, the second one at Crete, Greece in

the seventh in Budapest, Hungary July 2014. The focus of the 8th REM will be on the recent developments in ion-matter interaction, ion beam characterization and ion beam modification of matter, especially the study of sputtering and ion solid interactions. The 8th REM is organized to honour Peter Sigmund for his outstanding contribution in the understanding of the interaction of ions with matter.
